Snugg is a fast-growing Scottish startup committed to making home energy efficiency simple and affordable for everyone. We’re helping UK homeowners reduce their carbon footprint and save on bills—one home at a time.

It’s now even easier to get a quote from an installer using Snugg. When you sign in to Snugg, you’ll now see an option to request a quote from an approved EDF installer.

EDF is the UK’s biggest generator of zero-carbon electricity, and one of its key goals is to help the UK reach net zero carbon emissions. So we’re excited for them to join Snugg and help more people reduce the carbon emissions of their homes.

How can you request a quote from an EDF installer with Snugg?

At Snugg, our mission has always been to make energy-efficient homes accessible to everyone. So we're thrilled to announce that we’re working with EDF, one of the UK’s biggest energy generators, to make it even easier to choose the right installer and complete your home efficiency upgrades.

From May 2023, Snugg customers in England and Wales will be able to access EDF's network of installers to fit air source heat pumps, solar PV panels and insulation (including loft, cavity wall and solid wall), directly using Snugg.

This means that as well as being able to build your home efficiency improvement plan with Snugg, you’ll also be able to find a trusted installer to make those improvements a reality with Snugg.

Here's how it works:

1. Build your efficiency plan: Use Snugg to build a plan that could reduce your energy bills by identifying areas for improvement, such as better insulation or energy-efficient heating.

2. Get quotes from an installer: Get accurate quotes from EDF-approved installers through Snugg. Simply answer a few questions about your home, and an installer will call you within five days to arrange a visit, if required, and send you a quote. EDF vets their installers for quality and customer service.

3. Schedule installation: Once you're ready, schedule your installation with the EDF installer and enjoy the benefits.

So we’re completely transparent, we’ll receive a small fee from EDF when you choose one of their installers to fit your home improvement.

Why are we teaming up with EDF?

Snugg was created to improve the process of making homes more energy efficient. So, as well as helping people save energy costs and cut carbon emissions, it’s one of our key goals to simplify the process of doing so.

Until recently, you’ve had to leave Snugg to find your own installer. This can be a complex and time-consuming process, and it can be difficult to know who to trust. We took the first step in reducing this complexity for people living in certain areas of the Scotland Central Belt, by partnering with Heat Save Scotland. Now, by working with EDF across England and Wales, we’re able to extend our coverage further and help homeowners across the UK.

“We’re delighted to be working with Snugg to help customers with their energy efficiency measures such as heat pumps, solar and insulation, through our trusted installer network. This collaboration marks the next step on our journey of Helping Britain Achieve Net Zero by supporting our customers as they decarbonize their homes”. Katharine Baker, Senior Manager of Propositions & Sales, EDF.

Our founder and CEO, Robin Peters, says: “Everyone should have access to affordable, energy-efficient homes. And this collaboration is a big step towards making that a reality. EDF is the UK’s biggest generator of zero-carbon electricity and its installer network is one of the largest. So we’re incredibly excited to work together and extend our reach to people living in all areas of the UK.”
