On Thursday 12 October, at the Scottish Financial Technology Awards event in Edinburgh, Snugg and TSB were awarded the Best Fintech Collaboration 2023!
The award, sponsored by the Department for Business and International Trade and Scottish Enterprise, celebrates the best collaboration between an established financial service institution and a smaller fintech.
We’re incredibly proud to have received this award, and for our work with TSB to achieve this level of industry recognition.
About the partnership
Snugg's partnership with TSB began last year when we joined its 2022 Innovation Labs Programme. Since then, we’ve been providing TSB customers with help and support to improve their home energy efficiency.
TSB customers can access Snugg’s services in many ways, including via TSB’s Greener Homes webpage, Money Worries webpage, the TSB Marketplace, and via their Mortgage Hub.
During the last 12 months, we’ve worked closely with the TSB team to further improve our offering. Their customers can now access a personalised home improvement plan, identify grants to fund those improvements, and then find an installer to carry out the work.
Today, the quality of the service we offer to TSB’s customers is far beyond that offered by other UK banks in terms of usability and breadth.
But the partnership has broader benefits too. As well as helping TSB's customers, it’s also helping the bank deliver on its commitments to reach net zero emissions across its mortgage lending by 2050.
What it means for the Snugg team
Upon receiving the award, Snugg’s CEO and co-founder Robin Peters said the following:
“This award is credit to the hard work put in by the teams at Snugg and TSB. Effective partnerships are going to be critical in delivering the UK’s Net Zero ambition, and we’re glad to be contributing to this challenge!
This all started with our participation in TSB’s 2022 Innovation Labs Programme. Now, we’re providing hundreds of TSB customers with help and support to improve the energy efficiency of their homes.
But we know this is just the beginning. As TSB increasingly promotes the Snugg proposition to its customers, and as we continue to build out the proposition itself, we’ll start to make a material impact on achieving our collective net zero ambition.”
